About the Job

The street cast works throughout the Festival day on the grounds, interacting and performing for patrons as residents of the Village of Newcastle.

Those auditioning MUST have wide-ranging weekend availability January thru end of May. Rehearsals will be structured based on experience - expect at least eight weekend rehearsals/commitments before the Festival opens. We will also be participating in the Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival. Attendance at these events is mandatory.

You must be 18 or older and have reliable transportation to the Festival site for all rehearsals and performance dates.

Please fill out the Audition Form by clicking the button below - we will contact you if we schedule another audition date!

Performance Dates

  • Dates TBA
  • Saturdays and Sundays plus Memorial Day Monday
  • Total of 17 days

What to Expect

Auditions will consist of several components - A cold read, character acting audition, and a brief interview. If you have a performance talent or skill, please come prepared to show it off! If you have a prepared monologue, we would love to see/hear it!

If you play an instrument and would like to audition for a spot as a Festival musician, please prepare a 1-2 minute performance of a renaissance, pirate or Celtic song. If you are a musician in a group, please ensure that all members of your group are with you.

What to Bring

Please bring your headshot and resume if you have one. Wear clothing you can move in - Renaissance costumes are not required.

If you are unable to attend auditions but would still like to be considered, or if you have additional questions, please send an email with your resume and headshot attached to James Freer, Entertainment Director.
