Our standards for human authorship in artisan work are set out in the Creative Authenticity Standard.

Major Policies — Read First

• Limited space, juried selection. Space is extremely limited, and only a small number of applicants are selected each season. Priority is given to highly unique, handcrafted work that adds something distinctive to the Festival marketplace.
• Handmade priority. Items handmade by the exhibitor — or by an approved contributing artist working under the exhibitor's direct supervision — receive priority. Resale merchandise must be fully disclosed and is rarely approved.
• Contract controls sales. If accepted, your agreement will specifically define the products, services, and categories you are approved to offer. Only approved items may be sold.
• Retail fees. Typically $120–$200 per operating day, depending on location, frontage, and footprint. Final pricing is confirmed with acceptance and placement.
• Service-based operations. Approved service-based businesses are generally assessed 20% of gross onsite service revenue, subject to the terms of the final agreement.
• First-year exhibitors. New artisans may not construct permanent structures during their first season and must operate from an approved Renaissance-themed tent or cart.
• One-year tent limit. Exhibitors may operate from a tent or cart for no more than one year. Continued participation requires transition to an approved booth or shop arrangement, subject to availability and Festival approval.
• Insurance. All exhibitors must maintain at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate in general liability coverage.
• Costuming. All owners, employees, and workers must wear Renaissance-appropriate costumes while operating during Festival hours.
• No subletting or guest vendors. Booths may not be shared, sublet, transferred, or used to host guest artisans or other businesses without prior written approval.

What You'll Need to Complete the Application

Please have the following ready before beginning:

• Business and primary contact information, including legal name, business name, email, phone, and mailing address
• Your category or artistic medium and a short description of your work
• A booth or setup plan, including whether you propose a shop, tent, or cart, and the approximate footprint
• At least five clear photos — products, your full merchandise display, and booth exterior or setup if available
• A concise list of your primary products or services and typical price ranges
• Confirmation that you can provide the required insurance coverage

Application Decisions

Applicants selected for a season receive an approval email by the applicable notification date above. If you have not received an approval email by that date, your application was not selected for that season. Please check your spam or junk folder before contacting the Festival.
