Press & Editorial

Cover the Georgia Renaissance Festival.

The Georgia Renaissance Festival welcomes journalists, editors, producers and working media interested in covering GARF, its performers, events and the people who bring the village to life.

Editorial media may request press access, interviews, photography opportunities and information for upcoming coverage.

Request Press Access

For editorial coverage and working media only. Promotional partnerships and media trade should be submitted through Sponsorship & Partnerships.

Eligibility

Who Qualifies for Press Access?

Press access — a press pass or media credential — is intended for working media covering GARF for an established editorial outlet or active news platform.

Examples may include:

  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Television and radio
  • News and editorial websites
  • Local and regional publications
  • Travel and cultural media
  • Podcasts or broadcast programs producing editorial coverage
  • Journalists, editors, producers and assigned editorial photographers

An important distinction

A photographer working on assignment for a legitimate publication or editorial outlet should apply through Press & Editorial.

A photographer or videographer seeking hosted access, GARF assignments or opportunities to contribute visual assets should use the Photo & Video Program.

Creators whose primary audience is on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or similar social platforms should use Content Creators unless they are working on a genuine editorial assignment for an established editorial website or publication.

Standard Press Access

What Press Access May Include

  1. Press Credential

Approved requests generally include one media credential plus one guest. Approved media may attend even when the requested festival date is sold out.

  2. Arrival

Unless otherwise coordinated by GARF, approved press credentials and guest admission will be available through Box Office Will Call.

  3. Editorial Photo & Video

Approved media may photograph and film within normal public guest areas while covering the festival. See our Photography & Filming Policy for the line between editorial and commercial use.

  4. Interview Coordination

GARF can assist with interviews involving festival leadership, performers, artisans or other appropriate subjects when requested in advance.

Access is based on the proposed assignment and is confirmed individually.

A Credential Is Not an All-Access Pass.

Press credentials do not automatically provide:

  • Backstage access
  • Stage access
  • Performer-only or operational areas
  • Restricted-area access
  • Drone permission
  • Unrestricted filming
  • Commercial photography rights
  • Additional complimentary guests
  • Permission to interrupt performances, performers or the guest experience

Any special access must be requested and approved in advance.

Which Path

Editorial Coverage or Promotional Partnership?

Editorial

You are reporting, reviewing, interviewing or producing independent coverage for an established publication, broadcast outlet or editorial platform.

Request Press Access

Promotional

You are offering advertising, airtime, promotional posts, giveaways, media inventory or other promotional value in exchange for tickets, access, compensation or another GARF benefit.

Sponsorship & Partnerships

Promotional media trade is reviewed through Sponsorship & Partnerships, not the press credential process.

Planning to Cover GARF?

Tell us who you represent, what you are working on and when you would like to visit.

Please submit your request at least 7 days before your visit whenever possible. Late requests may not be able to be accommodated. If you are requesting interviews or any access beyond normal public guest areas, include those needs in the initial request so our team has time to coordinate them.

When your story goes live, we'd appreciate a link or copy — reply to your credential confirmation and we'll add it to our coverage records.

Request Press Access

Submitting a request does not guarantee credentials, interviews or special access. Approved requests will receive confirmation directly from the Georgia Renaissance Festival.
