Guest Conduct Policy

Respectful Conduct

Guests must treat other guests, employees, performers, artisans, vendors, volunteers, and participants with reasonable courtesy and respect.

Threatening, abusive, intentionally disruptive, destructive, or unsafe behavior is not permitted.

The Festival may intervene when conduct materially interferes with another person’s ability to safely enjoy, work at, or participate in the event.

Harassment & Intimidation

Harassment, unwanted physical contact, intimidation, threats, stalking, or other conduct that creates an unsafe environment is not permitted.

Performers, Characters & Participants

Guest interaction is an important part of the Renaissance Festival experience, but participation must remain respectful.

Guests may interact with performers and characters when invited, but may not:

• touch a performer, participant, costume, prop, animal, or equipment without permission;
• enter stages, backstage areas, booths, kitchens, employee areas, or other restricted spaces;
• intentionally interfere with a performance, demonstration, procession, or scheduled activity;
• repeatedly pursue or pressure a performer or participant who has ended an interaction; or
• impersonate Festival staff, security, official cast members, or authorized vendors in a way that creates confusion or disruption.

Costumes are welcome, but attending in costume does not give a guest authority to direct other guests, performers, vendors, or Festival operations.

Tipping

Tipping is always optional.

No guest should ever feel pressured to tip a performer, employee, or vendor.

Applause, kind words, and participation are always welcome ways to show appreciation.

Where a tip option appears on a card reader, a skip or no-tip option must be available, and service should never be affected by a guest’s decision not to tip.

Guests may not solicit tips or compensation from other guests.

Tipping is appreciated when offered, but it is never required.

Trinket Trading

Trinket trading is a guest tradition at the Festival and participation is always voluntary.

Guests who choose to trade must follow the Festival’s Trinket Trading Policy, including rules regarding consent, safety, pathways, children, and prohibited sales or solicitation.

Guests may not pressure another person to trade, exchange trinkets for money, or use trinket trading as a form of unauthorized commercial activity.

Solicitation & Commercial Activity

Guests may not solicit money, sell goods or services, distribute commercial materials, accept tips, charge for photographs or performances, or conduct unauthorized business on Festival property.

Fundraising, petitioning, organized promotion, brand activations, commercial photography, and other promotional or commercial activity require prior written authorization from the Georgia Renaissance Festival.

Alcohol & Intoxication

Guests consuming alcohol are expected to do so responsibly.

The Festival may refuse or discontinue alcohol service and may remove a guest whose intoxication creates a safety concern or substantially disrupts the experience of others.

Outside alcohol is not permitted.

Safety & Festival Operations

Guests must follow reasonable instructions from Festival staff, security personnel, emergency responders, and other authorized event personnel.

Guests may not:

• enter closed or restricted areas;
• climb structures, barriers, stages, fencing, trees, or other areas not intended for guest access;
• tamper with Festival equipment, signage, utilities, props, merchandise, or facilities;
• obstruct walkways, gates, emergency routes, or operating areas;
• interfere with animals, performers, vehicles, equipment, or Festival operations; or
• intentionally create a hazardous condition.

Running, horseplay, or similar behavior may be restricted when it creates a safety risk in crowded areas.

Children & Supervision

Parents, guardians, and responsible adults are responsible for supervising minors in their care.

Children should not be left unattended or permitted to enter restricted areas, interfere with performances, or engage in unsafe behavior.

Photography & Recording

Personal photography and recording are generally welcome, but guests must follow the Festival’s Photography & Filming Policy.

Photography or recording may not block walkways, interfere with performances, harass another person, enter restricted areas, or materially disrupt Festival operations.

Costumes, Props & Prohibited Items

Costumes are encouraged, but all props and carried items must comply with Festival safety requirements.

Removal From the Festival

The Georgia Renaissance Festival reserves the right to refuse admission, revoke admission, or remove a guest when reasonably necessary to protect safety, maintain Festival operations, enforce Festival policies, or address illegal, threatening, abusive, disruptive, or unsafe behavior.

Guests removed for violating Festival rules are not entitled to a refund.

Serious or unlawful conduct may be referred to law enforcement when appropriate.
