A Date Day at the Georgia Renaissance Festival

In Fairburn, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, there's a village where the two of you can wander shaded lanes, toast in a tavern, cheer knights from the rail, and lose track of the afternoon entirely. No reservation. No script. Just a day that's actually about each other.

Made for Wandering Together

Romance at a stroll

No itinerary, no waiting on a table. Duck into whatever catches your eye — a show, a shoppe, a quiet lane — and let the village set the pace.

A toast worth raising

Taverns and pubs pour throughout the village, with music never far off. Claim a shady table, clink your cups, and stay a while — the food and drink is half the date.

Gifts made by hand

The artisan shoppes are full of things you pick out for each other — jewelry, leather, glass, and one-of-a-kind pieces you'll keep long after the day.

The Shape of the Date

Improvise freely — or borrow the rhythm couples swear by.

1 · Arrive & get lost

Come early, grab a map you'll mostly ignore, and take the first lane that looks interesting. The best discoveries aren't on a schedule.

2 · Cheer from the rail

Pick opposite knights at the joust and make it interesting. Want the best view side by side? Add reserved joust seating when you get your tickets.

3 · Toast & graze

Split things. Trade bites. Argue pleasantly about which was best. A tavern toast in the middle of the afternoon feels like getting away with something.

4 · The golden last hour

The light softens, the lanes quiet, and the village turns its most romantic. Save one slow loop for the end — that's the walk you'll remember.

Make It Official — or Just Magical

Some couples come for a date and leave with a story bigger than that. A handfasting is an intimate Festival ceremony for the two of you — hands bound, vows spoken, in a setting all your own. It can be purely symbolic, or a legally binding marriage. Your call.

Dreaming bigger still? Weddings at Thistle Grove bring the ceremony, the celebration, and the whole village to your day.

Dress up together — or don't. Matching crowns are optional and welcome. Everything about costumes lives on the Cosplay & Costumes page.

Prefer a night out? On select nights each fall, GARF After Dark runs the village as a separate 21+ evening series — its own tickets, its own atmosphere.

The practical stuff, answered. Bags, re-entry, weather, and everything in between is covered in the FAQ.

Pick a Date. Literally.

Festival days sell out and tickets are online only — claim yours and the rest of the planning is done.
